Age 18, Santa Ana

I’m an activist who loves to work in the community to impact lives. I want people who have fallen behind to know that everything will be okay. I really want to study political science and become a City Council member or a school board member.

I want people who have fallen behind to know that everything will be ok.

My community support programs are helping me. They’ve taught me how to be a leader, give workshops, and how to communicate. I had no place before becoming an organizer.  I never knew I had a strong voice. After going to these support programs, I learned I can reach my goal and I can make change in my community.

I want to become a City Council member.

Undocumented youth in my community are scared to go outside. They feel like outcasts and they’re lonely. They need encouragement from the city and schools. We need support groups, and spaces where they can be themselves and talk. Youth need support more than anyone because we’re the future. You’re not making a mistake by investing in us. You’re going to make Santa Ana a better place for diverse communities.

My biggest dream is making my parents proud.
